One of the major FEA projects I’ve worked on was for a class project, in which I had to run FEA on a simplified model of an engine. Starting from provided drawings, I modeled the engine in SolidWorks, then imported it into ANSYS Workbench to run FEA. The restraints were simplified, including 4 bolts to secure the engine and pressure inside the engine. While this was not used for any larger purpose, it was a good chance for me to practice both my modeling skills and my FEA.
